Things to do in Kenai Peninsula
The Kenai Peninsula is the outdoor playground for Alaskans and world travelers because so many activities are easily accessible from the highway system. In addition to the world-class fishing, the area offers hiking, canoeing/kayaking/white water rafting, wildlife viewing, birding, razor clamming, flightseeing tours, nature based tours, photography, culinary quests, sled dog rides and winter sports. There are also numerous cultural activities, including museums, visitor centers, historic sites, art galleries, theater, musical performances and craft/farmers’ markets.
No matter what your interests are, we have partnered with many of the local service providers to connect you with the best that the area has to offer. With our over 24 years of living in the area we will let you know about the local “gems” that are not in the Alaska travel guide books to make your Alaskan Adventure a very memorable experience.
Native Alaskan, Russian and American heritages are found throughout the Kenai Peninsula and can be best experienced by meeting the locals. Go to one of the farmer’s markets, visit art galleries, dine at the restaurants, and enjoy a beverage at one of the local roadhouses. Strike up a conversation with the residents of the area and get ready to hear some amazing stories about our neighbors and the community’s history.
